Christchurch Pest Control was first established in 1980 by John and Rose Gilbert. John Gilbert was involved in Pest Control in New Zealand in the early 1970s when he became a service Technician for a major international pest control organisation involved in commercial and domestic pest control services including timber, soil and ship fumigations John Gilbert went on to become the South Island Manager. In 1980 John and Rose Gilbert formed Christchurch Pest Control offering commercial and domestic services including fumigation. Rose Gilbert had a major roll in the company managing calls advising clients filing and record keeping, John was very busy on the road and in 1984 the company became a limited liability and became known in the industry as CPC LTD. The company quickly became a major player in the industry with domestic pest control and commercial pest management programs for the control of rodent and insects including timber, soil and ship fumigations in the Canterbury region.
In 1987 John and Rose's son Melvyn Gilbert joined the company as a service technician carrying out domestic and commercial services. In 1988 Rose and John created a division of Christchurch Pest Control Ltd called CPC Hygiene witch is know today as Christchurch Hygiene Services. In 1996 John and Rose's second son Kevin Gilbert joined the company as the companies third service technician. In 1998 sadly John Gilbert passed away at the age of 55. Rose Gilbert and her two sons continued to expand the business and in 2005 employed Tom Mclean as a service technician then later Melvyn and Kevin's sons joined the company as service technicians Bradley Gilbert starting in 2008 and Ashley Gilbert starting in 2014. Today 2015 Christchurch Pest Control Ltd is a modern high tech company with qualified service technician and two operations managers offering quality pest management services including aircraft disinsection for international aircraft that comply to New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries standards.
Todays pest management programs are high tech with online reporting where customers can access there data anywhere in the world giving access to onsite pest activity, history and trend graph that allow you to identify and anticipate potential risks so preventive measures can be put in place before there is a problem. Pest monitoring stations are checked with barcode scanning giving the customer live access to when and where a station is serviced. Christchurch Pest Control Ltd has been in the industry for the past 40 years and will continue to be a major player in the industry.
